UVA Update

PGY-3 Psychiatry
Our psychiatry department at the University of Virginia is proud of the achievements of its residents and its faculty members. At the APA annual meeting this year, our residents presented more than 20 interesting posters, two of which won poster competitions. We would like to congratulate Dr. Marie Lyse Turk for winning 'Best Resident/Medical Student Poster: Clinical Case Studies' along with Dr. Colleen Leitner for winning the 'Best Area 5 Resident/Fellow Poster'. Dr. Turk, along with Dr. Jordan Rosen and Drs. Justin and Ryan Smith, also presented a one and a half hour symposium about "Testosterone Deficiency and its effect on depression". Dr. Diana Robinson was one of the speakers at a workshop sponsored by the APA Council on Consultation Liaison Psychiatry with the title "Decisional Capacity: A Contemporary Update". Dr. Robinson was also one of the co-chairs for another workup sponsored by the APA leadership fellowship, entitled "Media Literacy Is The New Black".
It is also that time of the year where we bid our adieu to our fourth year residents. Dr. Keri Stevenson will be going to Yale University to complete a forensic fellowship. Dr. Diana Robinson will be starting her CLP fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Jordan Rosen will serve as a member of our faculty in the ICU department next year. Dr. Chelsea Wolf, Dr. Melanie Miller will start practicing psychiatry outside of Charlottesville. Dr. Bao Vo, who is current third year resident will be a child psychiatry fellow next year at UVA. Dr. Aisha Mondal will leave for Washington, DC where she will be continuing her training in child psychiatry at Georgetown University.
We would also like to welcome our new interns for this academic year: Dr. Daniel Higgins, Dr. Shiloh Cousins, Dr. Gabriela Saez, Dr. Julie Baldinger, Dr. Katherine Murray, Dr. Bo Hu, Dr. Dillion Kayser, Dr. Joan Winter, Dr. Kimberly Curtis and Dr. Eric Lee. We are certain they will shine at UVA!
