Fall 2019 Issue

Commonwealth Strategy Group
On July 9, 2019, PSV's Andrew Mann, along with lobbyist Mark Hickman with Commonwealth Strategy Group, met with UVA residents to discuss PSV and APA membership as well as legislative and advocacy updates. Legislative, regulatory and policy highlights included balanced billing, certificate of public need reform, step therapy and prior authorization reform, state budget items of interest, behavioral health hospital and mental health system reform, the Deeds Commission, mid-level provider expansion efforts and other topics. We also talked about the General Assembly's special session that Governor Northam called to address gun control. Finally, we highlighted the importance of this year's elections, where all 140 seats of the legislature will be on the ballot. Residents heard about how important and easy it is to get involved in PSV and policy advocacy. We enjoyed our visit at UVA and look forward to the PSV Fall Meeting in October.
