Wesley Carter was one of Virginia’s child Psychiatrists who served the children and families of our state for many decades and was a strong advocate for children. He last worked with youth in the juvenile justice system. We will miss him.

Dr. Wesley Byrd Carter, 77, of Richmond, died November 20, 2019. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Wesley T. and Louise B. Carter. Surviving are his wife, Norma A. Carter; sister-in-law, Joyce A. Turpin; niece, Norma Millender; two great nieces, two great nephews, five great-great nephews, cousin, Dr. Phillip E. Byrd and other relatives and friends. He was interred on Monday, November 25 at Forest Lawn Cemetary.
