UVA Update

More and more people have been getting vaccinated and we are all hopeful to see the light at the end of the tunnel of this long-lasting pandemic! UVA has been continuing its endeavor to utilize telehealth services to provide care to a large number of patients and also keep clinical staff members safe.
It is also that time of the year where we bid adieu to our fourth-year residents. We are very proud and excited to announce the glazing match results our fourth-year residents achieved.
- Dr. Jenny Lee will be heading to Baylor University Medical Center in Texas to complete child psychiatry fellowship.
- Dr. Asheema Saripalli will be doing outpatient work in Wisconsin.
- Dr. Purva Amar will be heading to UCLA/VA Greater Los Angeles program in California for addiction psychiatry fellowship.
- Dr. Ben Stephens will be starting private practice in Charlottesville, Virginia.
- Dr. Jayne Shadlyn will be staying at UVA to pursue her geriatric fellowship.
- Dr. Cullen Truett will be heading to the MedStar Health program in DC for consult-liaison psychiatry fellowship.
We would also like to welcome our new interns for this academic year: Dr. Alaa Abouelnasr, Dr. Grace An, Dr. Barinaepkee Banuna, Dr. Alexander Bao, Dr. Emma Batchelder, Dr. Anna Davis, Dr. Jason Shugoll, Dr. Daniel Thompson, Dr. Abigail Wang and Dr. Katherine Zisk. We are very excited and confident that they will shine at UVA.
